After extensive consultation with our customers, suppliers, staff, consumer organisations and other interested parties we have launched a sustainability action plan under the label “Plan Apple”. This includes our Ten Commitments - areas requiring concerted action where we intend to focus our environmental and sustainability efforts.

7. Towards peat-free gardening
8. Using less water
9. Towards zero waste
10. Inspiring personal well-being and sustainable lifestyles
Each of these Commitments is backed by detailed action programmes which will be gradually implemented over the next two years. Already, we have stopped the sale of gas powered patio heaters, adopted targets for the phasing out of peat-based growing mediums, and have remade supply arrangements for the use of only FSC and TFT timber in all wood products.
