At the root of the matter...

The Clinton-Hunter Development Initiative Carbon Offset Programme is a major programme of reforestation in Rwanda and Malawi, which will provide local farmers with cash crops of mangoes, oranges and avocados.

Not only will it help farmers to move away from subsistence farming, but the reforestation will aim to repair some of the devastating effects that past deforestation has had on the biodiversity of the region.

The by-product of the scheme will be carbon credits that will be sold on the open-market enabling companies to offset their carbon emissions. Whilst we strive to be carbon neutral by 2010, we will offset our carbon footprint through West Coast Capital’s purchase of carbon credits on our behalf.
